Sorrento Topside by WiDoWm4k3r Sorrento Topside by WiDoWm4k3r
A View of Sorrento Beach from one of the Look out walks, I Jumped the fence and took the shots from low down because I wanted to include it in the shot to get a sense of seeing a perspective you don't usually get, it didn't make a big difference in the end, but I thought it was an interesting idea

Believe me I have taken so many poor shots of amazing views to realise that just pointing the camera at a fantastic landscape isn't quite enough. In fact I think I had turned getting the worst possible shot from the best situation into an art form.

It wasn't until many years later that I finally began to realise that even though it was that amazing sunset that I wanted to capture, I had better pay some attention to the foreground detail and perhaps give the viewer something to lead them into the photo otherwise it's another set of bland and boring images backed up with the well used phrase "you had to be there".

Anyway you don't suffer from that particular affliction, this is a really good composition with a great deal of interest going on throughout :)

Thanks man, I totally agree with you, I too have had that issue in past shots, but I guess that's where I learnt my lessons, being disappointed with a shot a lot of effort put into it.

My pleasure, photography can be an art form but too many people think it's really easy because all you have to do is press the button. What they fail to realise is that pressing the button is called taking a photograph which is something that we can all do but that doesn't make it art :)
